Hey scotty I have a 2005 Chrysler 300. It has a check engine light, when I took it to auto zone to checked it out , it said i have a bad fuel pump but at the time it wasn't giving me any problems...but now my car is starting to hesitate when I try to accelerate. Did I do any I do anymore damage to my car?
Change the fuel filter, if it does not help, change the fuel pump too.
In my experience, my family used to own a 2006 Chrysler 300. The way the fuel tank was set up, it went above the driveshaft, leaving at least one fuel pump basically empty the entire time. Thanks to this, it can cause heat and friction to wear down the pump. Because of this, we had to replace one of them. Your best bet I would think, would be to listen to the other person in the comments and change the filter first to see if you can get by without replacing it. Best of luck.
