I have an automatic transmission 2005 Hyundai Tucson with 81,000 miles. I bought it new and kept up routine maintenance. This summer, the car began to shake when it was in drive or reverse and the air conditioner was on, but only when idling at a stoplight or in a similar situation when reversing (checking for things in the mirror, etc). It would not happen at all if the car is in park, and it almost seems to be worse when it's in reverse.
From what I've seen online it seems to be the idle air control valve. Which if that's the case I can replace myself. I was just wondering your opinion on it, because I don't want to have to take it to a mechanic if it's something simple like that, which I can replace myself. Thank you.
Before randomly replacing parts I would at least clean the throttle body and MAF sensor, look for any vacuum leaks, and check codes and live data.
That happened to me on that car. Ended up needing a new motor mount. They are cheap. Replaced myself. Watch the motor when you put it in reverse and look at the mounts to check. If they are loose, replace.
