Hi Scotty,
I recently purchased a 2005 Toyota Matrix with 230k miles for $2,500. It runs well, but the check engine light came on and an OBD2 scanner (from autozone) gave 3 different EVAP codes. Will continuing to drive hurt the car? If I bring it in to a mechanic I have the feeling they will want to fix it for big $$.
P0441
P0442
P0446
Now a new one unrelated to EVAP P0171
Thanks
John
Can you list the codes?

Outside has some kind of vacuum leak in the system try my video finding engine vacuum leaks with a cigar
Thanks so much Scotty! I’ll give it a shot
Hi Scotty,
I got a stogie and tried it, but no cigar. Pun intended. I think it was too drafty out.
I kept looking for the leak and noticed the hissing was coming from close to the motor, louder at first after start, then cutting out slightly after some time. I read more online about the manifold gasket going flat, and it matches my conditions of happening in cold weather.
Thank the lord there’s another video of yours for that too. I’ll give a new gasket a shot tomorrow!
Thank you!!
John
