The car has a history of throwing this code. Initially a new gas cap fixed it. Later threw a cel because of a bad canister vent valve. Replaced with an oem vent valve and cel extinguished but evap code remained. Drove it 200 miles and cycled it 45x. Code still there. Took it to dealer. 2x they said they fixed it but we went to pick up and code still there. They said they did a pressure test and it passed , but I think they're lying....i suspect they just disconnected the battery for two hours. Should I replace the purge valve up front? Or perhaps replace the vent valve again because 1 or 2x during a refill, the gas pump clicks off. According to driver, it never clicked off the gas pump prematurely when car was under 6 years old. No scanner code for purge valve has been thrown.
Sure, try that valve again and only buy an OEM one. Don't buy some Chinese knockoff. And realize the stupid code means almost nothing. Here in Tennessee. They don't do any kind of emissions testing and the car should run fine and people just ignore the stupid code
@scottykilmer Thanks. I'll try that.
@scottykilmer Hey Scotty. Just to have closure on this issue (which is apparently common). I replaced the vent valve with no improvement. My brother in law replaced the purge valve at the front. No improvement. We looked for a new dealership that seemed competent and went there, despite them being 30 miles away. They managed to extinguish the code by replacing the evaporation system sensor.

Great news, glad you found a dealer that fixed it.
