Scotty,
I have an 06 Chevy Equinox. 91,000 miles on it. It has a 3.7 liter V6 engine. It starts great when it is cold. When I go to the store or something and get in it to crank it and leave it is hard to get started. Most of the time I have to press the gas pedal to get it to start. The engine runs great, it's just hard to start after it is warmed up. What should I do to fix it.
Thanks,
Keith Childress

Does it turn over normally and just not start or is it struggling to turn over? If it turns over normal I would suggest cleaning your throttle body. Carbon builds up around the edges and air flow isn’t right. It runs almost completely closed on warm start, and buildup around the edges restricts what little air your supposed to be getting. When its cold it’s “choked” and will start easily. Another test, turn AC on, if you idle surge or stall then it definitely needs cleaned. Remove air filter and tube. Spray with throttle body cleaner closely and watch gunk clean off. Soak up,excess with a rag and repeat. When you go to start afterwards it may he hard to start first time. If it’s really gunked up you’ll have to get someone to remove it and clean it. Good luck!
