2006 Chevy Impala LS

My Impala will blow cold air when Idling but when I get the RPM’s up to about 1,000 it blows nice and hot air.  It seems like a lot of people have the same problem.  Many say it needs burping.  Could you help.  Thank you!  Just fyi the Air conditioner does not work either.  I didn’t know if that had anything to do with it either.

How do you do that. Can I do it or should I go to a mechanic?

Either choice is fine. The typical DIY method - Park on an incline or put the car in a situation where the front of the car is higher than the rear of the car. The idea is to have the radiator cap higher than the heater core so air can escape from the lower parts of the cooling system out through the radiator cap (burping)

I guess I’m not understanding. Jack what tire up? Do I leave the radiator cap off. Do I fill radiator resvoure? Do I run engine?

Scotty doesn't usually return to questions he has already answered. What you need to do is bleed the air out of your cooling system.

Well if you have air in the system Jack the front of the tire up in the air. That way the radiator cap will be higher and you should leave the air out there. If that doesn't fix it then odds are you heater core is clogged up and that cost a fortune to replace
