Hello my name is Andrew my brothers car stopped working a few weeks ago and for the past few days I've been working on it although I've had experience working on cars I'm no professional, I found his engine bay full of oil and when he started it up I heard a knock and had him turn it off immediately, found his valve cover gasket was blown and pulled off the coil pack and found the spark plugs covered in oil as well, figured the knocking was coming from a mixture of no oil and spark plugs not firing from the oil, although after replacing all the gaskets and changing the oil and oil filter, also cleaning all the lifters, the valve cover, checking the timing chain, cam shafts, and the knock sensor, put everything together and turned it on and the engine was still making a knocking and squeezing sound, I am hoping it's not rod knock but I don't really know what could be wrong now my email is
<personal info redacted>
I can email you a video of the engine starting after I put it together if that would help

Hi Andrew. I redacted your email to protect you from bots. We don't send emails, so please check back here for replies to your question. If you could upload your video with the Youtube app, and post the link here, along with the vehicle mileage, that would be very helpful. Best of luck.
Molina's engines I would have to actually hear the noise but it's often the timing chain wearing and then the engine starts knocking but if it makes a noise that increases a large rattle as you rev it up that's usually rod knock
