Hi all,
This is a follow up post from my last regarding the same issue. So last time this happened I replaced the battery with one from Costco and this seemed to have solved the issue, until yesterday when the temperature dipped to -10C up here in Manitoba.
The car would crank but not start yesterday. Engine was turning over quickly so it was not sluggish at all. Spark plugs and ignition coils were replaced last year with OE plugs and Denso coils. And I also get my fuel from Mobil so not questionable gas either. I gave it a boost and it started right up and ran fine. And the car also restarted fine as long as the engine was still somewhat warm.
This morning it was also -10C, however it wouldn't start even with a boost. It would just keep cranking. I'm thinking there should be something wrong with the fuel system. I tried turning ignition to ON and I think I didn't hear the fuel pump priming. I also didn't smell gasoline at all after all the cranking. Am I on the right track here? Are there components in the fuel system, when failing, that wouldn't work when temperature drops?
Thanks
Yeah I would certainly assume either the fuel pump is bad or the wiring going to it or the ignition switch that supplies power to it. That old more often. It's the pump
