2006 Ford F250 6.0

I need to buy another work truck.  I am giving my 2014 Taco 2.4 regular cab with a nice ARE work cover to a new employee. Now I'll need something and buying a truck right now is ridiculous.  After looking at a bunch of 2008-14 Tundras I can't find one under 25k that doesn't have 200,000ish miles.

That got me looking at older diesels (sometimes we need to pull small mini xs or other trailers).  There is a 2006 Ford F250 with a nice work cover/ladder system.  6.0l diesel, 165,000 miles, 4x4. Some reading said those have problems with the turbos but otherwise I can't find a lot of negative. I'm fairly handy and think I can get it for $12k.  Any thoughts on a truck that old being reliable enough for 8,000 miles per year mostly running around town to customers and delivering the occasional trailer/equipment?

6.0 He** NO!!!

Don’t even think about buying that truck. Any 6.0 and 6.4 diesel just stay far away from. And I don’t care what the owner tells you “oh it’s been bullet proofed”. Doesn’t matter, DO NOT BUY!

Thanks for the advice. Is there a specific issue they have that you know of? It can't be too terrible - it seems like that engine has been around for a loooong time.  I don't need to make a lot of power and I drive like a grandpa even though I'm in my 30s.

Any advice on a truck to look for in the $15-20k range that will be reliable.  I don't care what it looks like or the interior.

@armyjon Motorreviewer.com, select Ford and find 6.0. It will tell you everything you could know about that motor. Also look up Debossgarage on YouTube. Type in everything wrong with a 6.0.
