2006 hhr started stahling when driving after a bump was hit. At first we would hit the cpu lightly and it would start back up after a few tries! Then it finally didn't work anymore.
We took it to our mechanic who could not figure it out after 3 months(we think it sat most the time). Then towed it to the dealer because we found out it had an ignition and key recall.. (thinking that was the problem).. dealer had the car 2 weeks with no luck on finding the problem..
They finally gave up and asked to return the car free of charge. (Again we think they changed nothing and let it sit in their lot)
Now after towed home..it cranks no start with security light coming on.
We think the security in the cpu is locking out the start.. what can we do?
We are in southern California (desert)
Car has 100k miles after sitting we are forced to jump it now. But all crank no bang!

I would say you're going to have to replace the main computer. At operating security system if you tapped it in the car started. It's obviously going out and of course check the wiring going into it to make sure that those little pins aren't corroded with green corrosion from water intrusion
