my air conditioner works but not very well when I hooked up Manifold gauges I have low pressure on both low and high sides it won’t take anymore Freon im assuming my compressor is worn out ?
What are your system pressures? Assuming you're using the gauge set and charging via the low side of the system, the vapor pressure in the can has to be higher than the low side system pressure or the refrigerant will not flow.
Of course the only way you can know for sure how much refrigerant is in the AC system is to evacuate what's in there and charge in the correct amount by weight. (To stay legal the evacuation must be done using recovery equipment.)
@chucktobias 30 on low side and 115 on high side specs say should be50-55 on low and 315 to 325 high side ambient temp 102 I live in Las Vegas
@jab91463 Are you increasing engine speed while charging to maybe about 1500-2000 rpm? That should drive the low side further into suction and pull refrigerant in if there is sufficient pressure in the can. If you're using small cans it may help to put the can into a container of warm water. (I put the cans in a coffee can of water on a hot plate. You don't want the water too hot or boiling, just about the temperature of hot tap water.)
@jab91463 Just don't get the can too hot or it can rupture. Be sure to wear eye protection just in case!
