I recently swapped out my clutch on Scion tC.
i put in a new flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disc.
I was able to successfully fire the engine and it runs good but I can not put the car into gear when the engine is running!
i can shift into gear easily (without using clutch pedal) while the car is shut off.
1st - 5th ( including reverse!)
the only way I can have a gear engaged is if I shift into gear when it’s off, then start it.
although it just jerks forward, even without releasing the clutch pedal.
i tried several hours bleeding the clutch slave with no luck.
I assumed it was a bad slave, changed that out and still nothing.
I’m leaning to a master cylinder, but Im ’waiting On the part.
is there any trouble shooting I can do that will pinpoint my problem?
I tested the drivetrain with the car jacked up, (forward wheel drive; only the front wheels lifted off the ground) and this proves that the gears engage because both wheels spin on 1st and 2nd gear.
ive been without this car for about a month, not really knowing what I could possibly do next.
I appreciate any feedback!
thank you!
Also, when put into gear when it’s off, then started... it jerks forward without releasing the clutch pedal then shuts off after a few seconds.
Well hack replace the master cylinder I've had that happen to me they go out while I'm working on the car pray it's just that cuz if not you can actually put the clutch disc in backwards and it will do exactly that it will install both ways but it won't work
