I have a 2006 Corolla with a 1ZZ 1.8lt engine with Automatic transmission. Mileage is 105000km.
I was getting bad gas mileage and engine vibration when the car was stationary and in drive at traffic lights. Car felt gutless at take off. Had someone run diagnostics and there were no codes. Only thing he saw was the idle rpm was 600 instead of 650.
I changed the sparkplugs to iridium NGKs and the car ran smooth as butter and seemed to improve consumption. After a month the vibration and gutless acceleration is back. Could you please advise. Thanks in advance
New air filter, clean the MAF sensor and throttle body. When was the fuel filter changed last?

MAF sensor was cleaned 3 months back
Throttle body same time
Air filter is 2 months old
Fuel filter to my knowledge hasnt been changed
I will go through your list again this weekend
A 15 year old car with the original fuel filter? I am surprised it runs at all. Hopefully, a new one will solve your problem.
