I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado classic 1500 with 196208 miles on it and about a month ago it stared a ticking sound. This seems to happen when the engine is cold and after warming up and a little driving it goes away.
What could this be and how can I fix it thanks!

Most likely its one of the lifters bled down and upon start up the tick is from the push rod to rocker arm excessive clearance. The tick goes away after the lifter fully fills up with oil. It is not anything to be concerned about until it ticks and does not go away even when engine is warmed up fully.

Does it go away with an oil and filter change? If not, the oil pump could be worn out or screen clogged up.
