Hi Scotty I have a 07 Monte Carlo and when I put it in drive it just revs out I have to pull it into first gear to get it moving then shift to second around 2500rpm then the same with 3rd when I get to around 45MPH I can put it into drive and cruise but when I stop I have to repeat the steps to get it moving and I can barely step on the gas or it will shoot from 1500rpm to 3500-4500rpm I just got the car and idk this problem someone told me to rebuild my transmission would that be a good idea?

No, that's a terrible idea, if it is indeed the transmission, look for a factory remanufactured transmission with a 3-year, unlimited mileage warranty. Hooking up a scan tool will help.
