Got a 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Hard Top and when I press to bring the roof off you can here the motor working it starts opening then the trunk doesn’t pop up to bring the roof in . I have to manually open the trunk for it and it works perfectly fine same with then I put it back on. The motor works but I hear a puff after the motor stops for the convertible. I was told the hydraulic could have no pressure to pull the trunk up . Or it could be the pump out of power steering fluid . Idk what to do so it has enough power to pop the trunk itself when I press the convertible button . What do I do the hydraulic pump is in the car frame at the back it’s hard to refill it . I tried checking the fuse and it’s all good. It just has no power to lift the roof sometimes . Idk what could be wrong
If the hydraulics is low on fluid..its going to work until the reservoir sucks in air and stops. You would hear the motors working but they can't work to move anything unless there is hydraulic fluid to use as a means of force. You should try to check and refill the reservoir as otherwise you don't want to possibly ruin some electric motors by running them dry - you burn them up and then your really going to pay.
Thank you !
