Scotty you're awesome!! Hi from BC, Canada. I'm thinking of buying a 2007 Lexus RX 350, but I've seen a few Lexus RX400H hybrid models available for under 10K cdn with less than 200,000 kms. I would prefer the non hybrid RX350 but they are priced $4-5000 more than the hybrid with similar miles. I know the RX400h has a 3.3L 3MZ engine which is a timing belt engine, whereas the RX350 has the 3.5L 2GRfe with a timing chain. Do I have to worry about the hybrid battery with that amount of KMs on it or is it designed to last longer? Have you ever replaced a battery in a Lexus Hybrid?
There's a reason that old hybrid models cost less - it's pretty likely in the near future you'd be looking at spending a few thousand $$$$ to replace the battery.
You're thinking about battery life the wrong way if you're only thinking about "KMs on it". Age takes its toll and I would not trust a hybrid battery more than 10 years old regardless of mileage. (Yes, some do last longer but it's a crap shoot.)
