Hi guys,
I have a 2008 Honda Accord 3.5 V6 Auto, and it has 137,000 KM.
Car has been well maintained, all servicing/maintenance up to date .
However, I have had this Annoying Humming/ Growling Sound for 6 months, 20,000km + now. It is a speed dependent Hum that increases Pitch with speed. It begins from 55KM/H.
I took it to the mechanic/s, one suggested Tires, so I replaced tires. And the noise remained, I got him to look over again and he couldn't fault it and claimed he couldn't hear it that well. Also had full allignment and Balance.
So I took it to a suspension specialist, They Said my Front Left wheel bearing was the cause. So I replaced both front wheel bearings at my mechanic. Aswell as front Brake Pads and Rotors. Greased Caliper Slides etc.
That didn't Fix it.
Now, I do believe it does quieten down when performing a left turn/ bend at speed 65 - 85KM/H. But it doesn't worsen when going right.
Could it be rear wheel bearings?
So now I'm stumped as to what this could be.
A few little things that could be related are that, my car does go to the left at Highway Speed's.
And I think I have a VERY, Very Slight vibration through my footwell. But could just be road feel.
I was informed that my control arm bushings are beginning to show signs of wear. But not needing replacement just yet.
This has been annoying me for a very long time! I really want it fixed but don't want to throw money at parts.
I will be taking it for further diagnosis, but am just after some thoughts from some of you guys.
Sorry for the long winded post and I hope you can make sense of it!
🙂
Before throwing more money into the parts, find the source of noise first.
