2008 Scion XB with 155k Miles Transmission Automatic transmission not smooth shifting, jumps into 2nd gear with higher than normal engine RPM,

noticed some humming noise a week ago and minor crabbing under 5mph.

Last transmission fluid flush was at 80k. Need advice what steps to take to correct the problem. Thanks!

ENGINE: 2AZ-FE I4

TRANSMISSION:

155k Miles

The photos of the fluid check and dropped pan look terrible. Burnt and/or filthy transmission fluid and debris all over the place. It's a pretty good bet that transmission is shot.

never flush. drain and fill every 50k

See our FAQ on the front page for details.

like the video you posted says ... the transmission is probably worn out, but check the fluid first.

Corrective steps would be replacing the transmission or the car.
