Hi Scotty, my friend has a 2008 Toyota Sienna with around 180,000 miles. He said he drove through water that was about 3 feet high. He said the car no longer starts, also mechanic discovered that oil was creamy, believes that water went through the intake manifold. Is there any way the vehicle can be saved by draining the oil and refilling? Or should the car just be sent to the junkyard?

Remove the spark plugs and crank the engine to clear the cylinders. Do several oil flushes with cheap oil. Remove the valve covers and clean what you can. Do a compression test. You might be able to get some more life out it, but no guarantees.

If water got into the engine chances are it's done for, might have even bent connecting rods. Additional damage could have been done to the transmission and electronics. Attempting to revive it could wind up costing more than that vehicle is worth.
