If you want to keep them for more than around 120k miles, no.

It depends the milage, they usually last 100k - (at most) 150k miles.

It's a basically an older Nissan they aren't great, but they're reasonably well built.

Powertrains are very solid on those if it was well taken care of but it is a midsize luxury SUV and as they get high miles (150k-200k) they can get pricey in repairs as the electronics and other components start to break.

everyone has their own opinions...

and some are better informed than others

the VQ35DE motors and 7-speed transmissions are solid, the problem is some people neglect the maintenance and they have issues...

The transmissions are are known for "Strawberry Milkshake of Death" sydrome, premature valve body failure, slipping and various shifting problems. The have a short expected lifetime due to factory flaws.

The VQ35DE is WEAK. It has problems with oil leaks, oil burning, failing timing chains, and loss of compression. It was NOT built for long-term ownership which is what datsmk wants.

They are simply poorly made powertrains

The 3.5 were pretty bulletproof as long as they were maintained. I will 100% agree the engines inherit those problems but more so when the maintenance was less than good. I had a 3.5 murano with 250k on it when I got rid of it and it still ran strong and didn’t leak or burn any oil

"needs religious maintenance" = fragile

Define long term ownership?  If by long term you mean to keep for as long as possible and put “lots of” miles on it (for instance past 200,000 miles), then No that vehicle is not a good choice.  As the saying goes, you can certainly do better.
