Hi everybody,

I am not able to decide between 2009 Toyota Corolla (131k) and 2007 Honda Civic (140k). Toyota is a bit more expensive, asking $5500, honda $4800. Both are in good condition

What do you think? Are the prices reasonable? Which one do you prefer? Why?

Thanks

Best regards

Aibek

Good luck with your Corolla!

I’d go Civic if that Corolla’s engine consumes oil.

When you say good condition, do you mean mechanically or cosmetically?

As with any used car, have it checked out thoroughly by a reputed mechanic, before you buy it.

BTW the oil consumption is only on the Corolla XRS trm with the 2.4 engine. The others are fine. The 06-07 Civics had cracked engine blocks.

Thanks, I went with toyota

We found some leaks on civic

Congratulations!

I would go with the Corolla. The Civic is good, but that year did have some issues with cracked blocks. Plus if you are getting an automatic Toyota makes better automatic transmissions than Honda.

They are both close to the start of the generation so they had some problems. The Corolla had some minor issues and the Civic had some cracked engine block issues but in that case I would have a mechanic check them out odds are one of them is in better mechnical condition than the other.

If it’s a later 2007 civic, they may have figured everything out. If it is a carry over from the 2006 model, no way.
