I am currently looking to sell my 2016 Ford f150 regular cab 2.7L 2wd and possibly buy a 2010 Ford explorer v8 4wd as a daily driver. Would this explorer make a dependable daily driver? I am under the impression that the 4.6 and transmission are very solid.

Yes, I do not like the V6 explorers but I do like the V8 versions
