Hello, my 2010 Hyundai Tucson AWD 2.4 I4 automatic transmission is entering limp Mode (stuck in gear three it seems) randomly without throwing any check engine codes. The car will be back to normal after turning it off and on again. Additionally while this happens I cannot use manual shift mode. This has happened twice since I bought the car in June, both times the car drove normally after a restart. Any ideas as to why this is occuring or how I could figure out what is going on. Thank you.
Mileage?
Big reason I tell people not to buy Korean cars they generally have weird problems as they age. The only way you're ever going to figure that out is finding a Korean car mechanic with the dealer scan tool they can do bi-directional testing or wait until it really breaks down and stuck all the time running poorly then it's easier for any mechanic to figure out
it’s a Hyundai, (if it’s a conventional automatic and not a dual clutch) get a new valve body or have your old one cleaned in a transmission shop.
