2010 Nissan Sentra Experience

FWIW - just wanted to submit my experience with my Nissan Sentra that may be helpful to someone, one day 🙂

This is not meant to promote or defend Nissan. Just my experience.

So I am the original owner of a 2010 Nissan Sentra with about 150,000 miles on it, and thus far have had extremely few issues with it. It hasn't been driven hard, but it has been on several 600+ mile road trips. I'm still on the original engine, CVT transmission, and most of the other engine, transmission, and steering components. The only thing I remember having to replace is the air intake box (I think somehow a hole developed in it), and on more than one occasion, I've had to have the exhaust pipe re-welded to the muffler, near the rear bumper.

I've done well with keeping the oil changed regularly, about "okay" with coolant, brake flushes, air/cabin filters, and I can improve on the transmission flushing. I think it's time for me to change the spark plugs again.

All that to say, I haven't been the best at keeping up with the maintenance items, but I haven't totally neglected it either, yet, I managed to get 150K miles out of it. For about half of it's life, it was garaged kept, so the paint is still in decent condition, with a couple of rust spots around the bolts that secure the plate (use to live in the midwest). The seats are still comfortable, no rips.

I have seen some indication of electronics degradation - some of the steering wheel buttons no longer work and the power window auto up feature doesn't work (but the auto down does).

So, that's all I have. Have a great day!

Well you're a lucky man because that's 10 years after I know took over Nissan and the company is going to crap since then
