Hey Scotty I own a 2016 Nissan Sentra. It has about 51,000 miles on it. The battery kept dying so I replaced it. It still kept dying then I discovered that the alternator was shot. The car only has 51,000 miles on it. What could cause it to die?

What could cause it to die?

The alternator charges the battery. Not charging the battery will cause it to die.

Perhaps I didn't catch your drift. The question as written is too vague ("it")

Maybe you're asking why the alternator died, not the battery?

Batteries and alternators often fail together. When the battery doesn't hold a charge, the alternator is being overworked. Why would the battery die? There could be something draining the battery. Perhaps an alarm system or other aftermarket electronics accessory.
