Hello everyone, here's some introduction of my car.
mode: 2008 nissan sentra base model
mileage: 149,520 miles
transmission: CVT
i bought this car a few months ago, and recently when i checked the manufacture maintenance schedule, it says i should change my transmission fluid. For this car, last transmission service is done on 119,833 miles, it's about the time, so i plan to change it by myself
i have read the manual, it says i should use NS-2 CVT fluid, and i found Idemitsu CVT Type N (NS-2) is recommended by most people. But the problem is, i don't know the fluid used by last owner, because it's done in a shop (Crease Monkey), not a dealership. This has been 3 years, so the owner didn't remember which brand.
So my question is, is it safe to mix different brand of NS-2 fluid? I do know i must not mix different types of fluid, and i've tried to do some search, but different people have different recommendation, so now i'm totally confused. Since i don't know what brand of fluid is used by the last owner, even i take the car to the shop, there will be same problem.
Thanks for the replying ahead, i'm new to here, so if i missed something, please tell me.
here's the link to the fluid
Amazon.com: Idemitsu CVT Type N (NS-2) Transmission Fluid for Nissan - 5QT : Automotive
here's the link to the owner's manual

so i decided to use Idemitsu CVT Type N (NS-2) Transmission Fluid for Nissan - 5QT in the end, after 1.5 years of driving, feels good, which is amazing for 2008 nissan sentra's worst transmission ever lol
I don't advise mixing. I would get the dealer OEM fluid. They can be mixed to some extent but you shouldn't chance it
thanks for your reply, scooty! Will a transmission flush be better in this situation? I'm worried the last owner used an aftermarket transmission fluid, so i may wrongly mix it with OEM fluid.
