i want to buy my first used car and I want a 2010 Camry and I found a few deals here and there. The ones that stood out are two. One of them was a 2010 Camry with 115k miles on for $6k after talking with the guy and the other is same car but 105k miles on it for $6.5k. I’m a little apprehensive about the pricing since I’m not an expert and I asked about the car history and whatnot but just didn’t have an opportunity to go check them out cuz the first one is nearly 2 hours away and the other is one and a half hour away. My question is what should I expect from a 2010 Camry when my budget is $6k ? Are those deals fake, too good to be true or are they what I should expect? I would greatly appreciate your help
Its a good deal. Not great, not bad. Thats what they go for. Have a mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection on it before you buy, watch out for oil burning.
This model wasn’t part of the models that had that issue it’s why I wanna buy the 2010 model. It’s the 07-09 that had that issue badly
Yes, the 2007-2009 was the models affected as they had the 2.4 engine, but TONS of people report the same issue with the 2.5 engines in the 2010 model year. We almost get a oil burning complaint about specifically the 2.5 2010 model every day! They didn't COMPLETLY solve it until around 2012, but the trade off was that it brought some transmission issues. Toyota really cheapened out in 2007 for the Camry and thats why I would be wary about any 2007-2014 Camry.
But if a mechanic says it isn't burning any oil and the service records look good, offer a little less and it could be a decent car.
I'd feel better about $5000 myself.
Toyota's are well built cars. Have a mechanic inspect the car as you would any used car just to make sure that there are no pre-existing problems. Not a bad Price considering it is a Toyota.
