2010 Toyota Corolla - Problems to watch for?

Scotty,

We recently bought a 2010 Toyota Corolla from my father (he can no longer drive).  35,000 miles, auto transmission, excellent condition.  They really went easy on this car, driving it into town occasionally.  We paid $3000, and it seemed to be a good deal.  The car is performing exactly like a Toyota should (great!), and we have been very satisfied. We do regular maintenance, and we've had no issues at all.

My questions are:  Are there any mechanical issues we should be aware of or watch for that are unique to this year model?  Any thing to look for or notice so we can be ahead of the curve with maintenance and repairs?

BTW, Love the YouTube channel!

Thanks,

Bill

Great cars. Super great deal.

I don't think they have any particular problems.

Enjoy the sweet deal.

Hello!

If you are the one who likes flooring the gas pedal and driving fast, I have an advice for you. Don't do it first time you get on road because your dad had been driving conservatively. That way you should begin with. Then, with each some drives you slowly start to strain it a little bit, step by step, so the engine gets habituated to a new driver. Engines are like humans. If you don't get warmed and trained for e.g. a marathon, you can risk to get into troubles if you run it phisically unprepared.

I don't know what engine you have. Some of them are very lazy to reach high speeds.

Perhaps you should monitor the paint for chips.

Do regular maintenance and it should last some 100k miles.

Good luck.
