Hey Scotty I own a 2011 Chevy Cruze with 110,000 miles. When accelerating there is a jerking motion in my car, I’ve read that it could be dirty spark plugs which I have yet to change but I am wondering if it’s just that. Could it possibly be a transmission issue? I have also put fuel injector cleaner into the gas tank to see if that would fix it but it didn’t. What could be wrong?
Worn spark plugs, failing coil, dirty air filter, dirty MAF sensor, failing TPS, dirty injector, clogged cat, fuel starvation due to a dirty fuel filter/failing fuel pump, are all suspect.
You can rule out some of them by reading the trouble codes (if any have been thrown).
For example, if the only code is a misfire in only one cylinder you can rule out the fuel pump/filter, MAF, TPS, and cat.
Pray it’s just a bad fuel pump or spark plugs and not your transmission, as the Cruze is notorious for bad transmissions at around your mileage.
