I have a 2016 Chevy Cruze. Junk! 🤦🏻‍♂️🙎🏻‍♂️🙅🏻‍♂️

1.4 liter turbo charged 💩

I bought it less than a month ago. Bad idea! 😡

Head gasket started leaking a week after I bought it. Dealer replaced it. 🫨Β

I still smell oil, although not nearly as bad, they are saying it's oil pressure sensor leaking. I did a visual inspection and didn't find any oil leaking anywhere I could see. 🧐

It threw a P0442 EVAP code after I got it back from head gasket repair. 🖥️

I checked for leaks by listening and spraying carburator cleaner around engine while running. I didn't detect any leaks. 💦

Could the PCV valve be causing the oil smell and code? What's your take on it?Β  🤷🏻‍♂️

Car is under warranty so they hopefully we'll fix the wonderful 1.4 liter turbo charged money hungry junk made headache causing piece of 💩

Could the PCV valve be causing the oil smell and code?

A bad PVC valve can make an engine burn oil, which of course would smell like burning oil. Check the valve by removing it, check and see if it's stuck/dirty.

The dealer that replaced head gasket might not have gotten everything snug. Here's things that trip that code: https://www.obd-codes.com/p0422

The oil smell could be from a leaking valve cover gasket if that was not installed properly. Next to the PCV valve that is the next simplest potential cause.

You could add some UV dye to the oil to check for leaks. Once the warranty is up I would dump that thing ASAP, maybe see what a mass used car flipper like Carmax or Carvana will give you for it.
