2011 Honda CR-V rear Tailgate won’t open

Greetings,

Issue - Tailgate does not open. Occasionally, the tailgate will open but 90% of they time it does not.

I powered the solenoid and tested the switch, they both work. Not getting any signal however through the wires. Nothing seems cut or corroded.

I also had a noisy rear passenger door actuator. I replaced the actuator and the rear door opens and closes without any issues.

related issue ?

I know the MICU does not power the tailgate switch if it detects a door open.

i noticed that when all the doors are locked and alarm is armed the alarm will go off the moment you unlock the door from the inside -EXCEPT the very same rear passenger side door. In other words I sit in the vehicle, arm the alarm with doors locked. Move the lock switch on any door and the alarm rings but not the rear passenger door.

I do not see any cut or corroded wire. But I am pretty sure this is why the tailgate won’t open

local Garage says it’s the MICU module. Why would it not work for just one door lock ? Seems strange.

any ideas anyone?????

Not getting any signal however through the wires.

you would have to find out where the signal is getting lost. See if you can find the electrical schematic for the door in the service manual.

@imperator @chucktobias I'm surprised but it's delightful news.. like freeware on steroids.

@hisxter some Robin Hood liberated the information for us. 🏹
