Loss of power on interstate

2011 Nissan Murano SV, Automatic, 113,000 miles, CEL did not light

Today I was on the interstate and after a two-interstate merge slowdown (less than 10 mph), when the traffic picked up again, the Murano would not accelerate.  Pressing the gas pedal resulted in no response on the tachometer or speedometer.  I hit the hazard lights and made it over to the shoulder.  I stopped and tried Low, Neutral, and Park with no tach response.  I turned off the AC, radio, and lights with no response.  It was still idling and crept forward.  The shoulder was very narrow, and an exit was just ahead (about 1/4 mile), so I let it idle towards the exit for hopefully a better spot for a tow truck.  Before I reached the exit, though, the Murano came back to life and would accelerate.  I finished the trip home (about 8 more miles) in the right-side lane in case it happened again.  I made it back home.  Left the car in the driveway a few hours, then I took it around the neighborhood a for about 20 minutes and it did not recur.  Since I have no CEL I don't know what to do.  Is Scotty back in Clarksville?  I'm in mid-Tennessee and could hopefully get it to him to look at.  Thanks!

Those vehicles have weak transmissions, but if the engine was not revving (not showing on tach) it's probably not the trans. When is the last time air and fuel filter were changed? Spark plugs?

Just because the check engine light isn't lit doesn't mean there are no stored codes. It needs to be scanned.

Scotty is currently in Rhode Island.

Make sure the negative cable from the battery is clean and tightly connected.

What was the engine temp when this happened?  Most commonly if it overheats the car will go into limp mode until it sees the issue is no longer present. As said above I would still recommend getting the vehicle scanned. If it was a 2 trip code it may have happened once but requires a second occurrence before it will turn the light on
