I have my eyes on a 2012 Malibu LT 2.4L I4 with 143k mileage. It has no mechanical problems, no codes, anything (except that the e-break being super hard to step down). The dashboard lights (tac, sped, fuel gauge, temp gauge) also turn off when the lights are manually turned on but act normal when put in auto mode. I will be the third owner with the first owner having the car from 2011-2021, and another guy from for around a year as a student putting around 5k on it and mostly highway. I see this as basically a one owner car at this point as the first owner obviously took care of this car. They are asking for 4.5k, which I think is a fair price?
I would not buy that car. They are generally rolling piles of junk at that age or soon will be
At 143,000 miles, it is past its useful life. Pass on it.
