2012 Honda CRV Engine Won't Start

Hi Scotty.  I have an issue that I'm going to take up with the Honda mechanic that recently serviced our 2012 Honda CRV as I suspect this problem is a reflection of their recent work.  It's always been a sound and reliable vehicle without any problems.  It has 184,000 miles and runs well.  Last week, the VTC actuator required replacing as the old one had gone bad making loud metallic growing sounds with every cold start of the engine.  In addition to the VTC actuator replacement, I agreed to a few other services such as spark plug replacement, SF-16 fuel additive, intake throttle body cleaning and a new valve cover gasket.  The vehicle ran really nicely all the way home from the shop that day, sat in the garage the next day and got used the following day.  The day it got used, the engine just shut down while in the middle of driving the vehicle.  It won't start no matter how long you allow it to turn over.  The battery is fine and the engine is happy to keep turning over as long as the ignition switch is turned on.  Blue Driver scan report reveals 3 codes that consistently come up in the categories of confirmed, pending, permanent and Powertrain Control Module.  Codes are P0365, P0340 and P0341.  They reference camshaft position sensors A & B circuit banks.  In your opinion, do you suspect that these codes have a connection to the VTC actuator that was replace last week and would they somehow be associated with why the engine shut down and won't restart?  Thanks!

Cam sensor codes can be triggered by a VTC issue like possibly a faulty part. Wouldn’t hurt to verify the cam and crank sensors are properly connected and secure since the valve cover was off


I agree. This situation has me trying to keep an open mind regarding possible problem sources. Given the fact that the VTC Actuator just got replaced last week, I can't avoid thinking there is some potential here for cause and effect. It just seems too coincidental for me even though this could all be as simple as cam and crank sensor issues. I think my biggest concern is the possibility of a cam shaft not being perfectly in position after having the VTC Actuator replaced. I'm trying to avoid thinking the worst. Because of the error codes I retrieved (P0365, P0340 & P0341), I feel like I'm stuck between this being either a cam / crank sensor issue or poor cam shaft positioning post VTC Actuator replacement. It's all confusing to me as the vehicle really did run beautifully upon driving it home from the shop. At that point I really had no reason to suspect anything wrong.
