I have owned a 2012 Honda Odyssey since it was new. The car has a bit over 150,000 miles and it started developing electrical problems. In November, the battery started dying a lot. Eventually, Advance Auto tested the battery and determined it was dead so I got a new one. The new battery died twice, so the car was brought to a shop where they said nothing was wrong. This was in January, and now in April the car is dying again. I thought it was parasitic drain, so I used my multimeter and found out it was. The multimeter read 0.90 on DC10A after 10 minutes. Since it is so hard to find the problem, I got a new Tacklife T8 jump starter since my old one needed another vehicle. The jump starter worked, so I tried the headlights as it was getting dark. The low beam headlights would not work at all, both of them, and only my parking lights remained on. The high beams worked though. I took it back, used my OBDII scanner, and it found nothing wrong. After that I checked the lowbeam headlight fuses and they were perfectly fine on the inside at least. They were not damaged on the inside. I then checked the relay, and switched the low beam and high beam relay because they are the same. After doing that the headlights still did not work, so I switched the relays back. Now there is a clicking coming from the relay every time I turn on the lights. What should I do now?
Thanks for the help. Turns out in the end water got into the wire of the headlight causing both lights to go out and a parasitic drain to occur. It has been fixed.
Well if it be a parasitic drain, then I would start the painstaking process of finding that first. Relays do click though if yours is super audible it could mean that the gap point of connection has been elongated, possibly from pulling the relay. Or it's not in all the way. Shouldn't be much harm but relays are also cheap so whatever you decide. Can check to see if resistance is too high for the lights, as since both don't turn on what do the bulbs look like? That could tell you a lot of info.
