Scotty,
My 2003 Subaru Baja was just totaled and I'm looking for a replacement vehicle that performs similar to this little car in the snow. I would like to know your thoughts on a 2012 Jeep grand cherokee. This suv has the 3.6L V6 with a automatic 5-speed transmission with 129,000 miles. I have looked at the carfax and there has been two owners on this suv and looks like there was some hail damage that was repaired in 2014. I have heard your youtube videos on how to stay away from any Jeep 2014 or newer due to Fiat's poor quality of the newer Jeep's and that is my plan.
Thanks so much for your time,
Sarah from Cheyenne Wy.
Modern Jeeps are rolling piles of crap I would stay far away from them. Get another Subaru or get a Toyota all-wheel drive
What has happened to Jeep is the same thing that happened to Harley Davidson a while back. They were taken over my AMF Company and degraded into a rolling pile of crap. Every new Harley came with a local bus schedule. At the very least, have a wet/dry compression test (on any vehicle you are looking at).
loL get a 2009-2013 Subaru Forester best year of forester in practicality and reliaibility transmission is 4 speed and engine is same get that or get a Highlander. The good Jeeps were the 1999-2004 Grand Cherokee. That car is honestly not a good choise.
no its a chrylser product.
So many better cars out there when its not emotionally driven.
Honda CRV, Toyota Rav4,
Mazda cx5, volvo xc90, subaru/nissan with manual
The 2012 3.6 Liter engine did have a problem with the exhaust manifolds cracking. Being that the manifold and head are one piece. the head would have to be replaced should the manifold crack.
I've had 3 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lerado's 3.6 L engines. 2013, 2015, 2018. Of those 3 I disliked the 2015, only because of the joy stick shifter. The other 2 I liked very much. I absolutely loved the 2018. It was bullet proof. I really was torn on letting it go and get a 2020 Highlander. In some was I wish I had kept it and not gone with the Highlander. I feel my 2017 RAV4 is in many ways better than the 2020 Highlander.
If a mechanic checks it out and says it's good, go for it.
Because of the performance of my RAV4 I went with the Highlander expecting the same, but have been let down in many ways.
