2012 kia sorento 2.4L fwd base
I have a code for coolant temperature below threshold. Doesn't overheat. I have been dealing with this for 6 months. I have replaced thermostat, coolant temperature sensor, and water outlet all twice. I have burp this system multiple times. The vehicle has 270,000 miles on it. I am the 2nd owner. Bought brand new in 2012. No issues with heat or A/C. The engine seems to run slightly more rough with some vibration, when I turn the heat on. I put u/v dye through the system and notice some glowing around my condenser tube's. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. I have also had a shop hook up the computer to it the guy said everything is reading as it should. Also the vehicle runs i don't burn oil but because I'm having this issue i do burn a bit more oil nothing crazy.
What else can cause for this code to show?
As Chuck said, knowing the exact codes would be helpful.
Does the engine coolant temperature gauge point at the middle mark on the temperature gauge? Or does the engine not get up to temperature?
Did you put UV dye in the AC system or the coolant radiator?
If the engine temperature is reading normal then check if the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor is reading the correct outside air temperature before starting the car up. If the air temperature sensor isn't reading the correct outside air temperature it can cause the code.
I have replaced ... coolant temperature sensor,
Throwing parts is not a reliable way to fix problems. Drive around for about 15 mins and then take a reading of the ECT (engine coolant temperature) with a scan tool. You could have wiring issues.
