Hi all,
I have a 2012 Toyota venza 4 cylinder 175000 miles that is misfiring at higher speeds only the number 1 cylinder, no matter RPMs and this misfiring is intermittent. It is throwing a p301 code i believe and it said cylinder 1 misfire. I have changed all the plugs and coils. I have taken it to a mechanic, one whom says i have low compression and another who says i have good compression. The first said it was 105 psi and the second said it was 170 psi. The first mechanic said the top of the engine was fine but he thought it could be something lower that was causing the problem and suggested getting a new engine. The second mechanic said it was a good compression and to just change the coils (which i did) and I am still misfiring. I am contemplating on just purchasing a used vehicle and getting rid of this one as it seems it could be the engine possibly and I am thinking the second mechanic was just giving me the run around. It couldn't be fuel related as it is only one cylinder misfiring right? Thanks for your help. And is getting another vehicle a better idea than replacing this engine? The mechanic quoted me at $3k for just the engine no labor.
Try swapping fuel injector #1 with one of the good cylinders.
There's more misfire troubleshooting info in the FAQ.
Alright I can give this a shot
have your battery load tested and have your fuel pressure tested could be something as simple as a clogged fuel filter. If those are fine get a compression tester since they're cheap and just test it yourself:

I think battery and fuel pressure issues would cause random misfire, and not just one cylinder.
oh okay I heard Scotty say that if its a random misfire its more than one cylinder that would be doing it. Thanks for clarifying
- Did you end up figuring out the issue? I'm having this exact problem with my 2012 Venza.
