2013 Boss 302 4000 miles opinions

I'm buying a 2013 Boss 302 from Carvana. The car has less than 4,000 miles on it. In addition to the tires what else should I focus on with respect to potential repair/replacement? I am concerned about the MT-82 but I'm not sure how much I should worry about it. I have seen many comments regarding the transmission. Most of them have been negative. What are your thoughts?

Well I would be very fishy about a car that's nine years old and has that small amount of mileage on it I would want to Total history to make sure it wasn't wrecked flooded stolen whatever.

I have reviewed the Carfax and did not see anything that concerned me. I'm taking the car to a Ford dealer and putting it on a rack to look underneath the car for any potential damage. Assuming I take delivery of the car, I'm going to take the car to my mechanic for a complete inspection within the first few days of ownership. I have seven days to decide whether or not I want to keep the car. I really appreciate your help. Thanks.

Don’t just blindly trust the Carfax! And it’s a bad idea to buy any used car without having a reputed mechanic check it out first.
Save yourself the hassle of a refund process and have the car inspected by the mechanic, before you buy it!

I have perused the Carvana Boss cars recently myself. I owned a 2012 Boss 302. The car was awesome.....except the MT-82 ruined the entire experience. Though I miss the car, I would NEVER purchase another one.

At 2,000 miles, my car lost fourth gear. And that was just the start. Synchro after synchro, three transmissions later....same issues. I got sick of having it in the shop. Sure it was warrantied but I never had my car. Even having my own performance shop it was too costly to keep running.

The Boss cars typically have super low miles. Most guys bought them thinking because they were a two year run they would be as collectible as the old cars some day. Not the case. And now you can get them for $30kish all day long.

I would not make the purchase as someone who has been there, done that. If you do, make sure you get it to a mechanic day one and have them go over that transmission with a fine tooth comb. You WILL have problems, it is just a matter of when. If you can live with that on a $30k car, then you might be ok.
