I inherited a Chevy Impala LTZ from a family member that always serviced it when it was required. The Impala is in excellent shape surprisingly but I am having a issue with the front end. When the vehicle is in drive and when moving forward or reverse popping noise can be heard from the front when braking to a stop. It doesn't happen when turning. I have lifted the vehicle to check for issues relating to the wheel bearings but it doesn't seem like the issue.
Engine mounts?
Mileage?

When was the last time the vehicle had a brake job, and how much life is left in the present brake pads?
