I have 2013 f150 5.0 with a tapping noise that I believe is coming from either the transmission or the oil pan! I originally thought it was coming from the top of the engine but i used a long bar to listen to the top of the engine and I couldn’t hear it there. I crawled under truck and now I believe it is coming from the bottom. Any ideas?
I had a silverado that did something similar one time. Ended up being one of the bolts from the torque converter to the flex plate wasn't properly torqued from the factory and had backed out. It would make contact with something up in there every time it spun around making a tapping sound consistent with the rpms. I took the tin access cover off tourqed it down good and the noise disappeared.
Could easily be a noise from the torque converter I would check to make sure the bolts are on tight and that no weld are coming apart this is where something like a borescope can work wonders you could remove the starter from the car then you can look all inside that hole at all the parts
