138k mi AWD. Howdy! Scotty was our mechanic when we were neighbors on W. Clay, so i knew my battery was dead and my terminals needed cleaning a few weeks ago. Cleaned and reattached woth new battery, but im still having spotty issues that have culminated in my car losing all power while driving just now. Acts like an alternator issue, but i also feel like it may be the old cables or a short somewhere between the battery and the alternator. I refilled the coolant less than a month ago and noticed it is almost empty and oxidized. No other issues but the power steering system and fuel pump dont get enough power/seem to lose power when engine is running. Help!
I would have the alternator tested first. But if you're losing coolant, you have the system pressure test and hope it's a leak cuz it's not a leak. It'd be the head gasket blowing. In that case I'd say it's time to get rid of it and get another vehicle. Nobody really rebuilds engines on those things
