Can I replace CV axles on 2013 Nissan Rogue S

Hey Scotty,

I need to replace both CV axles on my Rogue, the warranty company wouldn’t cover it because there was grease leakage on the rubber boot and in their contract it stated that it wouldn’t be covered if grease was noticeable on the boot which is BS because normal people don’t look under their car continuously, and it’s a sign of axle failure. I bought it from a small car dealer not a Nissan dealer, it’s a 3rd party warranty company so I knew I was going to have issues with them. I took it to Nissan and they got approval to replace the tie rods and radiator but not the axles, Nissan quoted $1600 to replace both axles. Is this something I can do and do you have an idea of how much it will cost me to do it myself? And what tools I will need, I have sockets and big hammers, I don’t have that fork bar in your video, I have plenty of grease. Any input would be appreciated sir. I can do several things on a car like changing out alternators, brakes, wheel bearings, disc and drums and such but never messed with a CV axle. It makes a ticking and clicking noise but not a higher speeds. And how long do I have before it completely fails, it just started doing this recently, maybe a week.

Hey Scottie,

I just had my tie rods and radiator replaced by Nissan under warranty, but the warranty company won’t replace the CV axles because there is grease on the rubber boots. I mean what normal person crawls under their car daily to check this, and the grease is a sign of failure anyway. Nissan quoted me $1600 to replace them both, is this something I can do, I can do a handful of things on a like changing out alternators, starters, breaks, discs, drums, wheel bearings, etc. I have sockets and various hand tools and grease but no fork bar, how much would this cost me to do both axles if so?
