We bought car new. (transmission died in June/2022. we paid for new transmission from dealer). Wife only driver, usually keeps cars 10 years. Michigan car. Still same plugs/brakes but always 5000mi/oil change. Car otherwise very clean. Should we spend $1000 for check-up, that may include some repair? Just a quote. Some say ball-joints may need service. Thoughts?

Never go to a dealer if out of warranty. You will get ripped off. Find an honest, independent mechanic.
