Hey Scotty,
I just picked up a 2013 Toyota Tacoma sr5 access cab with 140,000 miles. Truck has only had one owner and had plenty of service records at the dealership so I went ahead and bought it. Do you have any recommendations on keeping the frame from rotting? I live in the rust belt and have heard mixed reviews on whether or not to use products like fluid film or bed liner on the frame / undercarriage.
Thanks!
The Tacoma frame rust issue applied to 2005-2008 Tacoma's, not 2013
By 2013 Toyota pretty much perfected coating all their stuff so I really even worry they only main thing is you want to rinse the salt off in the winter as often as possible so it doesn't soak in
I have a 2015 and got the recall notice to have frame inspected. I just make a point to wash the BJESUS out of the frame in early spring. The weld beads only so far have surface rust. I live in New England. The New Hampshire boys have there trucks OILED for the winters!! Live free or Die as they say in NH!
