About 25% of the time when I shift into reverse my manual transmission grinds. It seems to happen more when the transmission is cold. I bought the care used at 67k miles and now has 72k. It is under certified pre owned warranty. I was planning on changing the transmission fluid to see if that helped, but should I try to get the dealership to do something first?

If you have a warranty, definitely take it to the dealer. You don't want to give them any reason to deny a warranty claim.
