Dear Scotty,
I have an automatic 2014 Ford Escape Titanium for almost 4 years now, bought used with ~145,000 miles. Its at about 185,000. Hasn't had an issue in the world and I stay on top of all fluid changes. Recently however I had an issue that would have been cheaper to buy a rebuilt transmission than continue replacing parts (got a good deal and warranty). It worked as good as new after a rebuilt ford transmission was installed by a local dealership. Now about 4-5 months later I'm having issues! I let the car heat up a little longer before I drive thinking with the cold the trans. needed enough time to lubricate. However it still wont shift to 2nd until I hit about 4 rpm and has trouble going up hills when I'm switching gears. I believe its the transmission assembly band, I called the dealership and they booked out till April! What are your thoughts and advice?
P.S. love your videos and keep it up!
Thanks,
UP Michigander
Check the transmission fluid level. If it checked out, you might have some transmission issue. Hope you still have warranty on the transmission. It might be as simple as a solenoid issue but regardless, I would not touch it if you have warranty.
