Sometimes after turning the truck off, the dash still stays lit. If not noticed, the truck won't have any power and sometimes the doors won't open. This creates a problem because I can't get into the truck to pop the hood and jump start the battery. The problem is intermittent and the truck only has 38,000 miles.

I’m not very familiar with this issue, though the byproduct of ford producing most of their vehicles in Mexico now, I’m not surprised at all this happened. First things first, whenever this issue happens I want you to record it. Then when that is done, then record the after effect (door won’t open, won’t crank, battery dies, etc.). Than take it to the dealership, and show them the issue there. Make them list this under warranty work, there are lemon laws also, where if they can’t fix the problem. They will have to buy back your vehicle BY LAW***. So keep that in mind, know your rights as a consumer. So show them the problem, and make sure they list it as warranty work. Than let them fix the issue, and if not. Then sadly the big part begins with the lawyer process and taking them to court and charging them upon the Lemon Law**. Though I hope and pray they can fix this up for you. Good Luck! Let us know how it goes

Kind Regards,

I’m sorry, my apologies I did not notice that this was purchased back in 2014, the warranty I believe has expired due to year coverage, unless it is 10yrs. But I doubt that it is. Most of them are 5yr, 60K mile warranty, so scratch what I said. You can still record it and take it to a independent mechanic and see if he knows what’s causing this issue, but I’d be sure to also check out what Doc said below, about the parasitic drain video Scotty posted. Good luck!
