2008 Mazda 3 2.3L Automatics Transaxle (Ford) 160k miles. I purchased it when it had 15k miles.  I take extremely good care of my car.  I've never had any major issues.  Recently when in Cruz Control, Car involuntarily accelerated and only disengaged when I used break. SCARY..!! then notice lag and sometimes when accelerating to enter freeway, tire slip warning came on. Then accelerating to 3rd gear, felt a clunk, like I hit a cat.  Engine light came on and AT light. Had it scanned and code #P0753 shift solenoid A Electrical.  Engine light remains on but AT warning light went off. I can still drive car but I don't. Checked fluids all good. Transmission shops can't get me in for months, so I took it upon myself to see if I could fix it.  In my endeavors I believe its the TCM (L34T189E1A) that needs replaced. I see a lot online with OEM and also refurbished or used TCM. My question is, can I use a TCM with same # but has a A, B or C at the end? are they compatible? Do I buy used, refurbished or new? also, what about OEM? and can I change the location of the TCM that against the heated transmission to the side, away from the transmission? I will get new solenoids A and B and drain Fluid. (not flush) and only use ATF-MV fluid and change filter.  And last but not least... Can you give me a ride in your Miata? my dream car.. lol Anyways, thanks for all you do, I've learned so much from your videos. I'm addicted now.. lol Hope you can help me out.. 🙂 ~Lori

If you really want to change the TCM, go with the new OEM. Here is the part you look for:
